Alltech Automotive LLC., a dynamic global automotive supplier, is seeking a Product Engineer to support our Libertyville, IL location. It has global responsibility for business development, product and process development, manufacturing and sales on wheel end, brakes, suspension and steering applications, providing parts for Car and the Light Commercial Vehicle Industry. It is a global structure covering Sales all over the World as well as Manufacturing facilities Asia.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as a category expert in your product categories
- Engineering Support for technical information in efforts to obtain future business and satisfy customers’ questions.
- Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Special technical projects and presentations about new product availability
- Define new product initiatives while optimizing the ongoing product line for maximum profitability, quality and integration within an innovation-driven platform
- Contribute to new business development efforts, including new category and new channel assessment
- Prepare Market Requirements Document and product specifications along with the product development / engineering team
- Evaluate ideas and suggestions for new products, investigate market opportunities and effect on market for present products, and recommend the development of economically attractive products
- Lead implementation of new product launches outlined in the product marketing plan
• Responsible for acquiring, updating, and comparison of company product performance vs. competitive performance, and competitive landscaping (pricing, features, applications, and innovation) - Conduct Original Equipment (OE) Research
Key Competencies:
- Project Management and Application Engineering experience with proven understanding and use of key tools like DFMEA, Risk Analysis, APQP
- Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree
- Customer relationship management experience in order to drive and influence customer’s technical choices.
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate with sales team/channel partners
- Analysis of Market Demand, Market Share and Value Proposition of own products vs main competitors
- Manage and execute the introduction of new products thru the full product lifecycle
- 5 to 7 years technical knowledge & experience in aftermarket brake related preferred
- Good communication skills and openness toward multi cultural team management
- Experience marketing tangible products through distributors and retailers environment with frequent global interaction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

We are looking for:
A great communicator and a quick-learner who likes problem-solving and analyzing data. We are looking for someone with excellent Excel skills and able to build good relationships with customers. You must have a demonstrable track record of analysis, positive attitude and a desire to learn.
Essential Job functions:
- Prioritize, review, and process incoming orders for accuracy and adherence to Sales and Finance guidelines
- Enter orders into NetSuite system
- Partner closely with Sales, Services, and Business Development to track, monitor, and analyze customer deal-related activities
- Respond to customer service requests
- Provide product information
- Prepare shipping documents and shipping labels
- Create Manifest or Picklist
- Filling shipping claims with the carriers
- Inform customers by email or telephone of order information, such as unit prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays
- Check inventory records to determine the availability of requested merchandise. Inventory adjustment
- Handle customer credits and refunds, account adjustments, and customer cancellations
- Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing

- Plan and execute procurement of finished goods from manufacturers and suppliers
- Maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with the manufacturers and suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries
- Ensure volume; customer service, inventory, and operating expense goals are achieved through creation, communication and implementation of weekly sales and operations master production schedules.
- Develop and maintain a strong business relationship with domestic and international suppliers
- Proactively report product and material availability issues
- Monitor and analyze capacity constraint data and adjust master schedules accordingly.
- Review sales forecast and inventory data to create weekly master production schedule in accordance with customer service targets, logistics and manufacturing cot goal for supply chain.
- Maintain, monitor MOH reports; revise essential system planning data in ERP to ensure planning system is effectively planning future requirements
- Develop, analyze and communicate action plans to resolve service problems.
- Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in ERP system
- Maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support sales
Participate and contribute to monthly Sales and Operations Planning process - Complete special projects and assignments as requested

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred supply chain, logistics or mathematics focus

Responsibilities include:
Product Manager – oversee market price competitiveness and identify and coordinate the addition of new product categories to our automotive assortment. The applicant will be responsible for developing and executing product strategies, objectives, budgets and promotions for a variety of product lines throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Result Areas:
- Product Line Development – Develop, forecast, implement and monitor product lines.
- New Product Launches – Lead cross-functional teams in the development, design, and launch of products.
- Market Research – Coordinate market and competitive research to identify industry needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing the sales team with technical expertise to enable them to sell our products. Act as a category expert in your product categories
- Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the team is kept current on new developments regarding the companies and competitors’ products.

Qualifications:
- Five years experience in automotive aftermarket industry.
- Engineer Degree is preferred
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products and programs.
- Product development experience strongly preferred.
- Technical understanding of automotive products.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Windows, and statistical software.
- Excellent organization and planning skills – able to meet deadlines in a multi-task environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – experience working with cross-functional teams.
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
